Recap

1st leg was a big one – in-form Stew versus Lorin.

The home captain gave Stew some last minute words of advice and he responded magnificently with a brilliant opening break of 4k+. Lorin got the break back but failed to capitalise giving Stew another chance. Stew put another 3k break onto his score and sealed a superb victory – and his highest ever score to make it a memorable night.

The next 3 games were a little one sided with the Cons team racing to a 4-0 lead.

The final game saw Stuart versus Jim – and after a start of 500 it looked like the home player would win out – a break of 1.5k underlined this result until Jim put a ball in an awkward position – then failed to hit losing his break!

A few nervous shots from Stuart left the balls extremely difficult for Jim to grab that one last chance to nick the game. He couldn’t and so Stuart secured an unexpected consolation from their tough trip.

A great night with lovely people – this is what Bar Billiards in the Northants League is about – nice to win and all that – but equally important to ensure that new players are encouraged to keep going!!
