Recap

Kevin continued his good form in the first to take a win over Theo – who never really got started in the game. The second leg was a competitive affair with both Mick and Ray playing well. Eventually, however, Mick came out on top and made it 2-0 to the hosts. Lenny played well in the third and secured his win even before his opponent Ted hit the black peg. This brought St Jimmy’s right back into the match and with Stevie up next it looked like this could well be a close run thing. So, the fourth leg was all-important and turned out to be the match of the night. Dawn put pressure on Stevie from the start with a decent opening. Stevie battled back but could never quite find his way past Dawn who has yet another impressive scalp to add to her growing collection! The last game was neck and neck with Andy playing well considering his long absence from competitive play. Martin, however, eventually got back to something more like his old self to put together a break shortly before the bar dropped. Perhaps 4-1 to the home side was flattering, perhaps it was deserved but either way – Headlanders are putting up a very strong fight for the Division 2 crown which is now a clear three-way competition.
