Martin was drawn to play Ian in the first leg and began with a 1,700 break. Ian swiftly got the break back and made a steady 7k+ break to ease the first leg to The Cock. Dawn against Rob next and putting the break down four times did not help Rob’s cause, Dawn played really well keeping Rob at bay until right near the end of the time. Eventually Rob just edged his nose in front and won – not without a good deal of luck along the way. Next up was Jim who started with a mere 1k. Ted failed to capitalise and could not get the break back. Jim scored another 4k+ to secure the third leg and with that the mach bus point. The fourth leg saw Kevin versus Dave. Dave must have washed his cue as he struggled to find his form. Kevin, on the other hand, played very steadily scoring on each visit to the table and struck back for the home team. In the final game (Mick versus Tony) Tony blistered to a great start with an impressive 4,900 break, and he could have gone on! That break put Mick on the back foot and he never really recovered. Further small breaks from Tony saw him score a strong 6,700 – final score, a very impressive 4-1 to The Cock ‘A’.
