Recap

The table was again magnificent with over 47k scored on the night!!! Can we move it to the Cons?

A great first leg by Nick who was ahead for at least half of the leg.  But Damo showed again what a class act he has become – not getting frustrated, waiting for his chance and then taking it with great skill when it arrived

2nd leg saw Stew open with a slightly tentative 2K and Aidan (who will become a great player) chased down hard although never quite manging to get back to level. Stew then found his mojo and produced some top notch billiards, on what must now be his favourite table in the league – 13k in the last 2 weeks!!

3rd leg saw Andy start with a strong 7k which he decided to put on the board (no chasing dreams – until later!). He also left the balls difficult and then took full advantage to roll back the years and rack up a leg score of nearly 13k – a man of the match performance as decided by the home captain – the always gracious Mick!

Leg 4 was looking like a tough call for “Son of God” but this man has strange ways! Martin unexpectedly missed his first 1 up and Chas steamed in with a decent 2.5k. Martin just couldn’t get that 2nd chance and when Chas worked the break back again, he took advantage with another 3.5k. Despite a valiant chase by Martin when he got the break back towards the end of the game there was just not enough time for him to catch up. Another great win for Chas, again against the break.

The last leg saw Jim up against Richard who is widely regarded as a “soon to be” big-time player – as demonstrated by his excellent performance and attitude in the Master’s top division last year. When Jim lost his opening break of 1.6k the fat lady started to warm up. However James, Jimmity, Nenecupper Smith had other ideas. A break of 2k towards the end added to another earlier 1.5k saw him comfortably over the line and sealed a magnificent 5-0 win for the Cons

Just love this table! The Headlands were very gracious losers and a great night was had by all – watch this space the Headlands will be challenging for the title, in the not too distant future!!
