Rushden would have certainly taken a 4-1 win should the have been offered before the night began, however, after two really big performances in the first couple of legs, and then Stew easing past Ted, The Cons were really thinking of a 5-0 whitewash. Martin Atwill had other ideas and started well in his leg with a 3k+ break – only to be pegged back towards the end of the game by Chas who had a 3.5k break. With only a minute or so to go Chas missed a split shot and then both balls at the bottom. This allowed Martin to scrape home and keep his impressive season on track! The Cons happy to maintain their advantage at the top of the table and keep the pressure on the chasing Cardigan team.
