The 2023 Annual General Meeting

This meeting will be held on Tuesday 19th September at The Cock Inn, Northampton. The meeting will start at 8:30pm. It is as important as ever that you attend if you possibly can. There are plenty of areas where we can improve our offering for players and venues alike – why not attend to offer your insight into how we can do better.

Committee election of officers

In accordance with our constitution an open invitation for league members to stand for election to committee posts was posted on this set on 11th August 2023 (at least 30 days prior to the A.G.M). Election of officers and committee members shall take the form of a ballot (show of hands) where the candidate with the highest number of votes shall prevail. Proxy votes shall not be valid in the election of committee officers and AGM proposals.

Proposals for discussion

 

  1. Amendment to Rule 43: Each team can use the 4 man rule upto 8 times per season however this may be extended at the committee’s discretion
  2. Proposal to remove Rule 52
  3. Proposal to delete Rules 65-69. Add a new alternate rules format with the addition that “off the spot” will only apply to the break and final ball. All other shots may be played from anywhere within the ‘D’.
  4. Amendment to Rule 78: Matches must be played on given date and venue or, if not possible, changed at the discretion of the Competition Secretary.
  5. Amendment to Rule 116: Entry fee for 2023/4 will be £12
  6. Amendment to Rule 114: Amend to read Where a player is unable to meet the conditions of Rule 113 above, points will be forfeited and awarded in full to the opponent.
  7. Amendment to Rule 115: Amend to read Where Rule 114 has been imposed – the player awarded the points will also be awarded an aggregate points total for that game based upon the average winning aggregate score from the other fixtures that week within his/her division.
  8. Amendment to Rule 128: prizes for Masters 2024 shall be £50 to Division Winner and £25 to Division Runner Up. A trophy shall be awarded for highest Break and highest aggregate score and no prize money shall be awarded in these categories.
