Recap

What a pleasure it was for the visitors to play at St Jimmy’s for the first time. A great venue and a beautifully set up table.

Ray started the ball rolling and played the better as he eased to a win over Andy. The key feature of the game being that neither player could get the break back as they struggled at the top of the table. The second leg offered up a milestone as Martyn, after knocking at the door several times, finally secured his first league win as he outplayed Lenny. Lorin knew that he needed a big start against the home captain and he delivered touching on at a little over 8k to secure the leg. The fourth leg was all-important and, as often seems to be the case in these circumstances, turned out to be scrappy. Neither Aiden or Norm were at their best but Norm just about edged it. With an important away match victory secured, Theo was sent to limit the damage against Dunc. The game was close until about halfway when Dunc managed to string a few small breaks together and progressed to a win. With the home side still to register a league win, it cannot be long in coming if they learn to take advantage of a lovely table.
