Recap
This fixture was brought forward and therefore played a couple of weeks early and brought together two of the pre-season title favourites.
In the first, Chris never really got started and Mick ran out an easy winner. The second leg saw Kevin play another good game in what is proving to be a fine season. Iestyn simply could not keep a score and Kevin was too strong in every department. Next up was Al who was charged with getting the home side on the board – he duly did as it was Ted’s turn to struggle to secure a foothold in the leg. The fourth leg turned out to be scrappy despite being a battle of two skilled players in Steve and Martin. Nevertheless, the importance of the leg was not lost on either player and it was Martin who eventually battled to a win. With the match in the bag, Dawn was on last against Ben – and although she actually outscored him, she couldn’t reliably keep them, and so Ben, always steady, secured the win.
